It is our passion at Synergy to encourage faith, connect people & foster community.

We are a Pentecostal church that is part of the Australian Christian Churches (ACC) movement. In addition to our affiliation with the ACC, Synergy Church is part of the Divergent Global family.

We want to see churches planted across the Otways and the South West Region of Victoria that are unique to their environment.

We believe God has equipped all Christians for the ministry (the work that helps other people). As we release people’s gifts, we love to see them taking new ground, nurturing one another, praying, sharing the good news of Jesus, and unpackaging the Bible together.

We are always:

  • Learning – more about Jesus, and his way of doing life.

  • Living – because a deep rich abundant life can be found in Jesus, even in the midst of life’s challenges.

  • Loving –  God and people more (including people who don’t agree with us.)

Meet the Team

At Synergy, we walk alongside one another to develop & flourish in our callings; reaching out and impacting positively in our communities. Defined in our very name, Synergy - which speaks of the combined power of a group when they are working together that is greater than the power achieved by working individually.

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.  For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!

  • Marni is passionate about seeing people grow into all God has called them to be. She has a heart for people to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and flourish in their gifting. Marni stewards every area of ministry with diligence & excellence.

  • Vicki loves immersing herself in God’s word and discovering the truth within every verse. She communicates with clarity and authority. She has a desire for people to seek God’s word and presence in their own lives. Vicki is married to Mote and currently leads our Young Adults & Worship team.

  • Matt is married to Katie and they have three beautiful children Joey, Annie and Jamie. Matt leads our Men’s Connect and is involved in many aspects of Church life. Matt has a passion for the teaching of the Word and he loves to bring God’s truth to our lives.

  • Heather has been part of our Church since the very beginning and is a great blessing. Her caring nature makes people feel at ease. Heather is a gifted and anointed worship leader and leads our Over 50s ministry and Women’s connect.

Statement of faith

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our every day lives.

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.

We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.

We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptised in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues which is the initial evidence of baptism in the Holy Spirit.

We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfil our role in the Church and serve the community in which we live.

We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and prosperous lives in order to help others more effectively.

We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.
